Design, Pool Excavation It made sense at the time. We could save some
money doing the excavation ourselves. But, I had no idea how much
earth would be involved, how hard the earth would be, or how long
it would take to dig. Had I known, I would have opted to rent larger
equipment and/or hire someone(s) to do it. I discovered caliche.
The dictionary defines caliche as "a mineral deposit of gravel,
sand, and nitrates." Basically, it's earth that has hardened
and morphed into something very much like concrete. Almost. I exaggerate.
A bit. I'm still a little bitter. And sore.
