Outdoor Kitchen, Custom Built-In Bar, Stone Work,
BBQ, Outdoor Refrigerator The homeowner’s back yard is right on the
golf course. They spend quite a bit of time on the back patio, but
wanted it to serve as more of a social space and function as a kitchen.
The BBQ was placed the far end so that the L-shaped structure would
open up to the pool and the side entrance to the yard. Also, by such
placement, the smoke from the grill would clear the patio overhang.
The bar seating area was situated between two existing posts (which
were shrouded in the same natural stone as the main BBQ structure)
and offered a stunning view of the golf course. The remaining posts
were shrouded as well, but only up to the same height as the bar
area. A dark, highly variegated stone was chosen. The installation
pattern was based on stonework I had seen and loved in Mexico. The
tile is large porcelain with enough of a texture to eliminate slipping.
Additionally, we installed a refrigerator, ice maker, sink and television.
The entire space can be washed down with a hose and left to dry.
